At EQRounds, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built EQRounds to help you practice emotional intelligence — not to harvest your data.

Information We Collect

We collect a limited set of information you provide directly, plus basic usage data:

• Account information — When you sign up, we store your name and email address from the authentication provider. This lets us create your profile and keep your progress linked to you.
• Practice data — Conversation transcripts, scenario choices, custom scenarios you create, feedback results, completed lessons, streak and achievement progress. This is the core data that makes personalized practice and progress tracking possible.
• Usage data — Pages visited, features used, and general interaction events. We use this to understand what helps people improve and where we should improve the product.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the practice experience — running scenarios, generating AI responses, and showing feedback on your conversations.
• Track your progress, streaks, levels, and achievements so you can see improvement over time.
• Improve our AI models, lesson recommendations, and daily challenges.
• Communicate with you about your account or important product updates, when relevant.

We do not sell your data. We do not sell your personal information, transcripts, or practice history to third parties or data brokers.

AI Processing

Your practice conversations are processed by AI models to generate the other side of the conversation and your feedback report. When you send a message during a practice round, it is sent to our AI provider for processing and a response is returned.

AI providers may temporarily process your prompt and conversation context per their own privacy policies. We do not use your practice transcripts to train public AI models, and we instruct our providers not to retain data for training where that option is available.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect account information and practice data. This includes encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security updates.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is perfectly secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to remember preferences like your theme choice, your daily lesson progress, and practice state on the current device. This stays on your device and helps the app feel faster.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels for ad networks, or cross-site trackers. Any analytics we run are focused on product improvement, not advertising.

Your Rights

You have control over your data. You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and associated practice data.

To make a request, email us at hello@eqrounds.com from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and let you know if we need additional verification.

Children's Privacy

EQRounds is not intended for anyone under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, notify you by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of EQRounds after an updated policy takes effect means you accept the changes.
