EQRounds helps you practice emotional intelligence through realistic conversations, feedback, and short lessons. This policy explains what information we handle, why we handle it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect
The information we handle depends on how you use EQRounds. We collect information you provide, information created when you practice, and limited usage information needed to run and improve the service.
- Account and sign-in information: When you create or use an account, we receive your name and email address from the authentication service. This lets us create your profile and connect your practice history to you.
- Saved practice and learning information: For account-based practice, we may store practice sessions, conversation transcripts, scenario choices, custom scenarios, feedback, completed lessons, learning progress, streaks, and achievements. This information makes it possible to show your progress over time.
- Quick Coach content: Quick Coach can be used without an account. When you use it, we handle the typed messages and any screenshots you choose to upload so the service can generate a reply. A no-account Quick Coach request does not add to the saved practice progress tied to a registered account. If you use account-based practice, that practice data can be linked to your account.
- Usage and product-measurement information: Depending on the tools enabled for the service, we may receive information such as pages visited, features used, and general interaction events. We use this to understand what helps people practice and where the product needs improvement.
- Payment and subscription information: If you purchase Plus, Stripe processes your payment details and subscription. EQRounds does not store full card numbers. We may receive limited payment or subscription status information needed to provide Plus access and answer billing questions. Stripe may send or make billing documents available for paid subscription payments and renewals.
- Messages to support: If you contact us, we handle the email address and information included in your message so we can respond and keep a record of the request when needed.
Quick Coach, screenshots, and AI processing
Quick Coach sends your message, and any screenshot you attach, to the AI processing services needed to understand the request and generate a response. This applies whether you are signed in or using Quick Coach as a visitor. Account-based practice messages and conversation context are processed in the same way to create role-play replies, suggestions, and feedback.
AI providers may temporarily process your prompt, image, and conversation context under their own privacy policies, retention settings, and service terms. EQRounds does not promise that a third-party provider will retain nothing or delete information immediately after a response. EQRounds does not intentionally use your practice transcripts to train public AI models.
Screenshots can contain names, contact details, private conversations, workplace information, or other information about you and other people. Please remove anything that is not needed for your question. Do not upload another person's private conversation or sensitive information unless you are authorized to share it.
How we use information
We use information for the following purposes:
- Provide Quick Coach, conversation practice, AI responses, feedback, lessons, and related features.
- Save account-based practice sessions and show progress, streaks, achievements, and learning history.
- Improve scenarios, lessons, coaching quality, reliability, and the overall product experience.
- Protect the service, investigate misuse, maintain security, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Answer support requests and send account or important service communications.
- Process Plus subscriptions, confirm billing status, handle billing documents through Stripe, and resolve payment questions when you choose to purchase Plus.
We do not sell your data. We do not sell your personal information, messages, screenshots, transcripts, or practice history to data brokers or advertisers.
Legal bases under GDPR
For the purposes described in this policy, we rely on the legal basis that fits the processing and the way you use EQRounds. The main legal bases are set out below under Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Accounts, full practice, and saved progress: Creating or signing into an account, providing full practice, saving sessions and progress, and delivering features you request are based on performance of a contract or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b).
- Quick Coach messages and screenshots: Processing typed messages and uploaded screenshots to understand your request and produce the response you asked for, including when you use Quick Coach without an account, is based on performance of the requested service or steps taken at your request before a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b). Please do not upload unnecessary sensitive information or another person's information unless you are authorized to share it.
- Plus subscriptions and billing: Providing paid access and handling subscription status and billing are based on performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b). Keeping financial or accounting records when the law requires it is based on a legal obligation, GDPR Art. 6(1)(c).
- Security, abuse prevention, and legal claims: Securing the service, preventing fraud or abuse, maintaining reliability, and establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims are based on our legitimate interests, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f). We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms and use information only as needed for those purposes.
- Product measurement and improvement: Using privacy-friendly measurement to understand feature use and improve scenarios, lessons, coaching quality, reliability, and the product is based on legitimate interests, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f). If a particular analytics or marketing tool requires consent, we rely on consent, GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), before using it for that purpose.
- Support and service communications: Responding to voluntary support requests and sending important service communications are based on performance of a contract or legitimate interests, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) or 6(1)(f), as appropriate. Optional marketing messages rely on consent, GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), where consent is required by law.
- Legal duties and lawful requests: Keeping or disclosing information when required to comply with applicable law, a court order, or a lawful request is based on a legal obligation, GDPR Art. 6(1)(c).
If we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object where applicable by contacting us, and we will assess your objection under applicable law. Core account and practice processing may continue where it is needed to provide the service or meet a legal duty.
Service providers and international processing
EQRounds relies on service-provider categories to operate the product. Depending on the feature you use, these categories can include authentication services, AI processing services, cloud storage, analytics and product-measurement tools, customer-support services, and payment providers such as Stripe when Plus is purchased. Providers receive information needed for the service they perform and may handle it under their own terms and privacy information.
Some providers may process information in a country other than the Czech Republic or your country of residence. The location and legal protections can vary by provider and can change as the service develops. This policy does not claim a particular country, transfer mechanism, or safeguard for every provider. The rules that apply depend on the provider, the data involved, and applicable law.
Data storage and security
Account and practice information is stored on cloud infrastructure used to provide EQRounds. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and security updates.
Retention depends on the type of information, whether you keep an account, the feature involved, support needs, and legal or security requirements. We do not promise one fixed retention period for every type of content. We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed for these purposes and handle deletion requests as described below.
No internet transmission or electronic storage method is perfectly secure. We work to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser localStorage to remember preferences such as your theme choice, daily lesson progress, and practice state on the current device. This information stays on your device and helps the app work as expected.
We do not use advertising cookies, ad-network tracking pixels, or cross-site advertising trackers. Any analytics or product-measurement tools we use are intended to understand and improve the product, not to sell advertising profiles.
Your rights and data requests
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be able to request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or other available rights. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. The Legal bases under GDPR section above explains how these choices relate to different uses.
To make a request, email hello@eqrounds.com, preferably from the email address associated with your account. Tell us what you need and include enough detail for us to find the relevant information. We may ask for reasonable verification before completing a request. We will handle requests under the timeframes and exceptions required by applicable law.
If you have a concern about data protection, you may contact the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection, Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, through uoou.gov.cz. This reference does not limit any other rights or complaint options available under the law that applies to you.
Children's privacy
EQRounds is not intended for anyone under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can review the request and take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes, new service providers, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, notify you by email or an in-app notice. The updated policy applies from its stated effective date.
